About Us
Sanctuary (a ministry of CornerStone International House of Prayer)
is a body of believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose primary calling is to pray. We minister to the Lord and we minister to people primarily in and through prayer. We believe the highest and most effective prayer is worship…intentional, consistent, thankful worship to God. We pray on behalf of those who do not yet know Him. We pray on behalf of those who do know Him. We pray because He is worthy. (I Peter 2:4-5,9-10)
The House of Prayer is a place to WORSHIP God
Psalm 29:2 says “Give unto the Lord the glory due to His name; Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.” Worship is the highest prayer and our highest privilege. We minister to the Lord in worship, praise and adoration spending time declaring His greatness, proclaiming our love and thankfulness to Him for Who He is. We worship God because He is worthy. (1 Chronicles 16:29, Psalm 5:7, Isaiah 61:10, Revelation 14:7 , Revelation 15:4)
The House of Prayer is a place to WAIT on God
Hosea 12:6 says “Observe mercy and justice and wait on your God.” We minister to the Lord in waiting, listening, in stillness and silence before Him. Letting Him have our attention, our time, our best energies so that we might hear His voice and be attuned to His Spirit to obey Him in all things. (Ps. 27:14, Job 35:14, Proverbs 20:22, Lamentations 3:26, Micah 7:7, Psalm 46:10, Habakkuk 2:20)
The House of Prayer is a place to WATCH for God
I Corinthians 16:13 says “Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong. Let all that you do be done with love.” The Lord Jesus is coming soon. He’s told us to watch and pray. We pray as watchmen on the wall crying out for Israel, crying out for the nations, the lost, the sick, the widows, the orphans… We keep before us His return and the urgency of the hour in which we live that when He comes He might find faith in this place. (Matthew 24:42, Mark 13:37, Luke 21:36, I Thessalonians 5:6, II Peter 3:10, Hebrews 9:11)
The House of Prayer is a place to intercede…for you
Intercession, talking to God on behalf of another, is an important part of the house of prayer. We intercede for the lost, for the sick, for the hurting, for the Church, the community, the nations. We offer healing prayer, prophetic prayer, soaking prayer, deliverance prayer. The house of prayer will minister prayer to anyone in the name of Jesus the Christ. Praying for others is a blessing and a privilege. We count it an honor.
